Continuing Education Requirements for Psychologists
Licensing and continuing education requirements are on a state-by-state basis.
We hope to provide information to help psychologists in all states with their continuing education requirements over time. If you are interested in how the Psychiatry & Psychotherapy Podcast can meet your licensing needs, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know what state you are practicing in.
36 hours of continuing education (CE) are required for each 2-year renewal period.
25% of the hours must be “live” or involve real time interaction with the instructor.
Courses must be an hour long to comply with CE requirements.
The Board of Psychology recognizes and accepts for continuing education credit courses which are provided by certain entities, including the ACCME.
The Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Podcast activities are provided through a joint providership with University of California Irvine School of Medicine, which is an ACCME accredited provider.
Psychologists self-certify the number of hours they have completed on the renewal form. Licensees must retain their records for 4 years, as the Board conducts random audits and may contact the licensee for proof of completion.
We suggest saving all certificates. If however, you lose a certificate, please contact us at email@example.com.
The Psychiatry & Psychotherapy Podcast currently has several episodes and quizzes which comply with the California Board of Psychology’s requirements, for a total of 9.25 hrs of continuing education. New episodes and quizzes will be added consistently!
