Continuing Education Hours Requirements for Registered Nurses
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) requires a mandatory 75 continuing education hours (CH) in a five year period. 51% of the 75 CH must be directly related to the full scope of your certification role and specialty.
50% of the 75 CH must be formally approved. Activities sponsored by the ACCME are formally approved for CH.
The Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Podcast activities are provided through a joint providership with University of California Irvine School of Medicine, which is an ACCME accredited provider.
When applying for certification renewal, you will complete the CH section of the Professional Development Record to document the courses attended and hours obtained. If your record is audited, you will then be required to submit documentation. The ANCC may require you to submit supporting documents, such as a copy of the completion certificate and requests that you maintain your records for the entire five-year certification cycle.
We suggest saving all certificates. If however, you lose a certificate, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
