Continuing Medical Education Requirements for Physician Assistants
The National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA) requires 100 hours of CME every two years. 50 hours must be Category 1, and 50 hours may be Category 1 or Category 2.
The Psychiatry & Psychotherapy Podcast activities are provided through a joint providership with University of California Irvine School of Medicine, which is an ACCME accredited provider of Category 1 CME.
Self-assessment CME are considered to be more valuable by the NCCPA, and will be awarded an additional 50% of credit. If an activity is worth 1 CME credit, the NCCPA will convert this activity to 1.5 CME credits.
The Psychiatry & Psychotherapy Podcast activities are Self Assessment CMEs, meaning for every hour of credit, the NCCPA will award an additional half hour of credit for activity completion.
The NCCPA indicates that you should keep your Category 1 CME documentation for your current two year cycle and for the previous two year cycle.
We suggest saving all certificates. If however, you lose a certificate, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
